  12. 1. Changing the Vendor/Product ID
  13.  
  14.    You must obtain a custom driver from SMSC since the VID/PID is 
  15.    compiled into the driver. This is an Apple driver architecture requirement.

  17. 2. Changing the drive icons
  18.  
  19.       To change the drive icons, you must create an 'icns' resource
  20.    for each LUN that you want to support, with a maximum of 3 (lun0-3).
  21.  
  22.    The resource file that the driver uses to display the icons is
  23.    located in the preferences folder, and is called "mscicons".
  24.  
  25.    This resource file must contain 4 resources with ID's 0,1,2,3
  26.    respectively, which represents the icon family for the LUN of
  27.    the drive you want to change.

  29.    Use the SHAREWARE application Iconographer 2.4, available at
  30.    http://www.mscape.com/products/downloads/iconographer.sit to load
  31.    in, and edit the default icons file provided with this installation.

  33.    This software will allow you to edit the icns resources in the 
  34.    "mscicons" file, and resave the new icons you edit.

  36.    Contact SMSC if you need a new installer built that installs any
  37.    OEM specific "mscicons" file. This file is automatically installed
  38.    when the driver software is installed.

  40.    The system needs to be restarted for the new icons to take effect.
